I want for us to look 👀 at the Message translation of this verse because I believe it offers some insight that is relatable…
“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.” Matthew 5:3 MSG
Have you ever been at the end of your rope? Has your back ever been against the wall? The truth is that sometimes “Baby” is put into a corner.
The question is what are you going to do when you’re put into those types of situations? Most of us freak out 😱 when our backs are against the wall. We cry, worry, and a host of other things. These are very NATURAL reactions. The problem is that God is not calling us to act in the natural. He desires for us to walk in the Spirit.
One thing I know about the Spirit is that It functions contrary to the things of this world 🌎. As I sit here typing I’m sitting in service, and my pastor just said, “the default position is the flesh (the natural).”
In order to live in the Spirit, we must live with intention. My pastor gave us a challenge for the week — to wake up and “SET IT.”
Set the intention through prayer 🙏🏾 to live in the Spirit.
Is living in the Spirit always easy? No! But here’s the good news: it’s in God’s will! That means He will help us to succeed.
